Information

Overview:

This project in San Benito County will grind, pave, and apply microsurface treatments, refresh striping and pavement markers, install rumble strips, install reflectors on existing K-rail and Midwest Guardrail System, replace existing crash cushions with standard Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware (MASH)-compliant crash cushions, install channelizers, and install speed limit signs along the State Route 25 (SR 25) corridor.

Work will include grinding/paving between San Felipe Road and the SR 25/156 roundabout and microsurfacing between the SR 25/156 roundabout and the San Benito/Santa Clara County line. Existing pavement striping and markers will be revised and refreshed, and the existing centerline will be replaced with rumble striping, including updated rumble strip limits at intersections and driveways in accordance with current standards. Reflective barrier markers will be installed on existing K-rail and median barriers, and existing barrier systems will be upgraded where necessary to accommodate MASH-compliant crash cushions. High impact channelizers and supplemental signing will be installed to improve corridor delineation and traffic control. Construction will be staged to maintain traffic flow with appropriate traffic control measures.
