Project Description

Caltrans District 4 (Bay Area) is developing a Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan (CMCP) for State Route (SR) 82, better known locally as El Camino Real and The Alameda, between the Cities of Palo Alto and San Jose.

A CMCP is a long-range plan developed between Caltrans, local, and regional partners to identify opportunities for multimodal (transit, auto, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian modes) transportation improvements.

The Plan will describe and analyze transportation facilities along SR 82. The goals of the plan are to decrease vehicle emissions, improve transportation safety, advance equity, and improve the efficiency of moving people within the Corridor. It will identify improvement strategies and recommend projects which help us and our partners to qualify for future funding and programming opportunities.
