Information

Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to reduce distressed lane miles, improve ride quality, minimize future maintenance and capital efforts and costs, reduce worker exposure, extend the useful pavement life for a minimum of 10 years, and improve safety and facility reliability for all modes of travel and goods movement.

Project Description:

The project will restore pavement, reconstruct curb ramps, and replace culverts, signs, Metal Beam Guard Rail (MBGR), and Traffic Management Systems.  Additional proposed work includes restriping existing Class II bike lane, extending existing sidewalk in front of Weaverville Elementary School to Washington Street, and crosswalk updates within the project limits.

This project is funded from the State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP).
