Welcome

Overview

The Multimodal Mobility Improvement, Segment No. 4, Project (EA 28600) is approximately 1.2 miles in length and is in the community of Littlerock. The limits of this segment are from 70th Street East to 0.1 mile east of 77th Street East, PM 53.1 to PM 54.3. This segment’s project scope will provide multimodal transportation access and enhance safety.

Project Status: Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) Phase

This project is currently undergoing design review and construction review to be completed by June 29, 2026. The project team is evaluating class 1 bike path per Traffic Safety's request and Right of Way requirements.

A Class I Bike Path was proposed on August 2, 2023. Right of Way appraisal maps were completed in April 2023 based on the assumption that pavement work was included in the project scope. Segment 4 project limits include pavement areas identified in green, yellow, and orange. As a result, the design needs to be adjusted using the existing topo.

Additional Right of Way studies are required to evaluate the proposed Class I Bike Path and associated sidewalk improvements. The amount of required Right of Way acquisition may change as the design progresses.

Utility Relocation

The following utility relocations are currently anticipated due to the proposed no-widening alternative:

  • 34 Southern California Edison (SCE) poles

  • 8 fire hydrants

  • 1 water meter

  • 6 water valves

  • 2 telephone cabinets

  • 3 guy posts

  • 7 electroliers

  • Approximately 3,000 feet of water line

  • Approximately 600 feet of gas line

  • Approximately 4,000 feet of AT&T telephone lines

The extent of utility relocation and parcel acquisition may change as studies for the proposed Class I Bike Path and sidewalk improvements continue.

Schedule Update

Project postmiles were corrected on January 3, 2026. A Project Change Request (PCR) will be submitted to move the project schedule from Fiscal Year 2026–27 to Fiscal Year 2027–28. This adjustment will allow sufficient time for Right of Way activities to be completed and support the project's goal of reaching construction contract acceptance by June 2030.

Current Activities

  • Pre-60% Design Review: Completed by 6/29/26

  • 60% Construction Review: Completed by 6/29/26
