Overview

What is a Corridor Plan?

A corridor plan analyzes how a corridor is performing and how it is projected to perform in the future, why it is performing that way, and recommends projects and strategies that achieve corridor goals and objectives. This is done through a collaborative and coordinated process with stakeholders and partners. The plan addresses transportation system performance, quality of life, access to destinations, as well as environmental factors. Through this process, a clear vision for the route is developed, which in turn provides for an integrated, seamless, resilient, multimodal, and accessible system.

Why This Matters

This Corridor Plan identifies current and future transportation needs along the corridor, with the goal of evaluating safety, mobility, operational improvements, and access for all users - including drivers, bicyclists, pedestrian, and transit riders. It will also help guide future investments and position the corridor for potential funding opportunities.

The plan will evaluate:

  • Roadways and intersections
  • Infrastructure needs for future growth and climate resilience
  • Connections to schools, jobs, healthcare, and essential services
  • Opportunities to expand biking, walking, and transit options - not just driving
