Santa Maria Downtown Multimodal Assessment
Santa Maria Downtown Multimodal Assessment
Caltrans is excited to be partnering with the City of Santa Maria to assess the condition of Main Street and Broadway in downtown. This assessment will identify ways to improve downtown for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit, and everyone else using this area.
Plan Description:
This assessment will create a set of technically, financially, and politically feasible project concepts for Broadway and Main Street in Downtown Santa Maria. This assessment is being developed with support from the City of Santa Maria, the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG), and Santa Maria Regional Transit (SMRT). It builds off the vision of local planning documents, including Santa Maria’s Downtown Multimodal Streetscape Plan, Active Transportation Plan, Local Roadway Safety Plan, and more. The assessment aims to enhance Broadway and Main Street as multimodal corridors that increase access and connections for all users to key destinations throughout Downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods.
